Mark Williams
Mark Williams joined the Michigan Certified Development Corporation (MCDC) as President in 2015. MCDC is the largest CDC in Michigan and consistently ranks in the top 20 in the country for production. MCDC is also an SBA Community Advantage lender providing access to capital to small businesses in Michigan’s under-served communities. MCDC has been recognized as the Michigan District CDC of the Year on several occasions and Mark received the District Director’s Award in 2024 for his contributions on behalf of small businesses in the state. Mark began a long and accomplished career in banking in 1982. Over the years, Mark has developed his skills in credit and financial analysis, loan review, portfolio management and sales at various institutions including both Bank and non-Bank lenders. He completed his first 504 loan in 1999 in partnership with the MCDC. Mark’s diverse background also includes an entrepreneurial mindset which allows him to relate to the small businesses MCDC helps.
Mark also serves on the board of Northern Great Lakes Initiatives, a Community Development Financial Institution, microlender as well as providing technical assistance to other non-profits throughout the U.S.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Financial Administration from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.
