About the Speakers:
Renée Bender
NADCO SVP, Government Relations

Renée Bender joined NADCO from the Small Business Administration (SBA), where she served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of Rural Affairs and focused on access to capital for businesses in rural America. She previously spent 12 years in the U.S. Senate, most recently as a Senior Professional Staff Member on the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. In her capacity on the Committee, Ms. Bender managed the SBA lending and investment portfolios, and was one of the primary drafters of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). She previously worked in the office of Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY), where she handled small business, financial services, telecommunications, and appropriations issues. She started her career in the office of Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM). Renée is a native New Mexican and earned her B.A. from New Mexico State University in 2007.

Jim Conroy
NADCO Legislative Committee Chair

James (Jim) J. Conroy, III serves as President at Pursuit CDC. In this role, Jim oversees SBA 504 lending operations for the company’s three state territory of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Pursuit CDC manages an SBA 504 team of 21 loan officers and a portfolio of more than $1.4 billion.

Passionate about using SBA 504 to advance economic growth, Jim has worked diligently to advance the program since 1997. Jim is an industry thought leader who frequently advocates for the 504 program by presenting at and organizing events, including NADCO conferences. In addition to his role with Pursuit CDC, Jim is also Executive Vice President of affiliate Pursuit BDC, a mission based lender operating in New York since 1955 that provides term loans to small businesses and is a statewide leader in SBA 7(a) lending.
