The course fulfills SBA’s requirement for attorneys attending an SBA-Approved Closing Course to become a “Designated Attorney”.

PREREQUISITES

“Introduction to SBA 504” (online via NADCO University) OR six-months’ experience in a substantive capacity (e.g., loan officer) for a CDC.

  • If you are registering multiple people from your office, you MUST log in separately as each person and log out in between.
Step 1: Log into the NADCO website and select Training Courses from the main menu bar on the NADCO website or select the Register link for Fall Training on this site.

Step 2: Select Training Catalog once you are in our learning system, you want to select the Training Catalog tab on the menu bar.

Step 3: Go to Training Categories on the left hand side of the Training Catalog page.

Step 4: Select 2022 Fall In-Person Training which is the first category listed. You will now see a list of all of the 2022 Fall In-Person Training courses being offered.

Step 5: Click on Buy Now next to the course you would like to purchase.


INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION

Todd Kobernick
Mr. Kobernick commenced practicing law in the State of California in 1984 focusing on understanding and resolving the issues of his clients. Mr. Kobernick represents individuals, small and medium sized business entities, including nonprofit corporations along with lenders and economic development companies. Mr. Kobernick focuses his practice in economic development and lender related activity, representing the largest U.S. Small Business Administration certified development company in the nation.

Mr. Kobernick has been and remains involved with the National Association of Development Companies, teaches multiple courses for NADCO and is a member of the NADCO Closing, Servicing and Attorney Advisory committees. Mr. Kobernick has assisted the SBA in reviewing certain SBA 504 Loan Closing policies and communicates frequently with the Office of General Counsel on a broad variety of matters.

Mr. Kobernick is involved with his community by serving on several Boards of Directors of nonprofit organizations. Most recently, Mr. Kobernick founded a camp for youth and families, which operates during the entire year.

Mr. Kobernick attended the University of San Diego, graduating in 1984. He is admitted to the State Bar of California, United States District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California, the United States Tax Court. Mr. Kobernick is certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a "designated counsel" authorized to provide specified legal services for SBA certified development companies.

Christina Gabriel Kanelos
Ms. Kanelos joined the Law Offices of Todd E. Kobernick in October 2003. She graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 1996 and is admitted to practice law in both the states of California and Illinois. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Ms. Kanelos was a Clinical Assistant Professor at Northwestern University School of Law. Prior to that, she was an associate attorney at McDermott, Will & Emery in Chicago. Ms. Kanelos is certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a "designated counsel" authorized to provide specified legal services for SBA certified development companies. In such capacity, Ms. Kanelos has helped to close over two thousand loans.

Ms. Kanelos focuses her practice on the representation of individuals and small to medium size business entities, including nonprofit entities, economic development entities and lenders. Her sound approach to the law and professional manner serve as the foundation for Ms. Kanelos’ relationship with her clients.

Ms. Kanelos is actively involved in community service activities, which have included advocacy for the rights of abused children and women and fundraising efforts for various charities.
