COURSE DESCRIPTION
The thorough NADCO Credit Risk Institute will give new and experienced CDC credit analysts the tools needed to effectively analyze small business financial statements and underwrite SBA 504 loans. The Institute begins with an introduction to financial statements, needed for new analysts, and will progressively take students through the principles and concepts contained in the NADCO-created Credit Risk Institute Credit Analysis Model. Upon successful completion of the Institute Course work, CDC analysts will receive the NADCO Credit Risk Institute Certification.The Institute will be structured as follows:

INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION
John EvansJohn joined Mountain West Small Business Finance in 1996. Before his promotion to President, in 2017, John served as the Servicing Manager and, then, as EVP Credit Administrator.
Prior to joining Mountain West, John had a twelve-year career as a commercial lender at West One Bank and then at Zions Bank. He became acquainted with 504 in 1986 and, prior to joining Mountain West, was one of Utah's leading 504 bank lenders.
John served on the NADCO board from 2010 to 2018, as the Region 8 Director. He believes strongly in the need for professional training. He has been a NADCO instructor for Liquidation and is currently one of the instructors for the NADCO Credit Risk Institute course.
He graduated from BYU in 1980 with a B.A. degree in Business Management.
Jason Monnett
Jason Monnett is a Senior Vice President and the Senior Lender for WBD--Your Business Finance Resource. Jason has worked with SBA loan solutions for nearly 25 years and joined WBD in 2001. In his current role, he oversees WBD’s team of seasoned 504 lending professionals that serve all of Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota.
Jason is a Graduate of UW-Madison and the Graduate School of Banking at UW-Madison. He is a regular presenter at the Annual Wisconsin Lenders Conference and an Instructor for the NADCO Credit Risk Institute.
Brian Comiskey
Brian Comiskey is the Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for SomerCor. Brian joined SomerCor in 2019 as the Chief Lending Officer and led a strategic reboot of the 504 loan product focusing on improving operations and driving growth. In 2021, he was appointed Chief Credit Officer. In this role, Brian overhauled the underwriting process resulting in improved management of operational and credit risk while increasing efficiency and throughput.
Brian started his SBA career as a Credit Analyst with The Money Store Investment Corp before joining the CDC industry in 1995. His CDC career includes credit, business development, operations, and management responsibilities with SomerCor (14 years) and Growth Corp (13 years).
Brian earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from Arizona State University. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Finance, Strategic Management, and Entrepreneurship. Brian is also a Certified Public Accountant.
