Frequently Asked Questions About The Across America One-Pagers

My story has been edited dramatically - can you tell me why?

NADCO needed to make significant changes to most of the Across America one pager stories in order to
    1. Ensure certain pieces of information were represented wherever possible on each one-pager
    2. Ensure consistency across one-sheets (for presentation as a collection)
    3. Ensure success stories are all approximately 100 words

I didn't provide this information on the one-sheet. Where'd you get it?

In order to complete the featured stories and achieve consistent information for each of the one-sheets, NADCO utilized a variety of outside sources including borrower websites, SBA 504 loan data, Google Maps, news sources/online articles, and more. If NADCO has introduced a factual error from one of these sources, please notify us so that we can make the edit.

I submitted edits - why aren't they reflected?

NADCO will turn edits around as quickly as possible. All necessary changes will be made by the NADCO Spring Summit. If you need the high quality, edited one-sheet earlier, please email Mandy Robertson at mrobertson@nadco.org All edits are review by NADCO and those that align with the overall goals and consistency of the Across America Collection will be included.

How do I get a high quality digital file for my state?

You can download your State page here. Note that NADCO will print high quality versions and have them available on-site at the Spring Summit.

Am I free to use my state's one-pager?

Absolutely!

Why does my state's one-pager feature a competitor's borrower?

NADCO works to select the featured stories as fairly as possible. It is important to note that these one-sheets are meant to represent 504 lending in each state as a whole and not individual CDCs. Audiences for the one-sheets are concerned with overall 504 impact.

Will the one-pagers ever change/be updated?

Yes! Due to the size of this project, NADCO intends to solicit new stories as we are able. The initial effort was in 2016 and in 2019 and 2021 a full recollection effort took place. This way, other CDCs have a chance to have their borrowers featured or to feature new or different stories for the state. Additionally, the statistics from the inception of the program are featured on the front side, these statistics will be updated each year as the new data is released from the SBA. The statistics that are currently displayed are the most recent year of complete, available SBA data.
