INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION
Spencer DavisSpencer Davis began his career with Mountain West Small Business Finance (MWSBF) as a loan officer in their Southern Utah Market. From 2005-2015, Spencer administered 504 loans in the Southern Utah, Northern Arizona and Southern Nevada markets. In 2015, Spencer transferred up to MWSBF’s headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah and continued his work as a loan officer. In 2019, Spencer was promoted to Senior Lending Officer. In addition to his production responsibilities, Spencer also developed, trained, and managed the origination team for MWSBF. He was also part of the team that oversaw MWSBF’s expansion into Wyoming, Colorado, and Idaho. Spencer became President of MWSBF in 2024. Spencer currently resides in Sandy, Utah with his wife and four children. When he’s not studying the SOP or spending time with his family, Spencer enjoys playing pickleball, tennis, racquetball and golf. He is an obsessive Liverpool fan. In December of 2024, Spencer was able to travel to England to enjoy five different soccer matches, including Liverpool against Man City.
Evan Shaw
Evan Shaw joined the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO) in August 2024 as Senior Vice President of External Affairs. Mr. Shaw has spent his entire professional career—and over half his life—working in the SBA 504 industry. He most recently served as a Managing Consultant at Guidehouse supporting the SBA’s 504 Central Servicing Agent and 7(a) Fiscal Transfer Agent contracts. He provided industry subject matter expertise to technology modernization projects, as well as Capital Access Financial System (CAFS) training and support to lenders and CDCs. Prior to joining Guidehouse Mr. Shaw worked at Business Finance Group Inc., a CDC that serves Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and West Virginia. He was initially exposed to loan files at the CDC in 2002 through an internship while attending George Mason University and was subsequently hired as a Credit Analyst after graduating with a B.S. in Marketing. He eventually took over management of the underwriting and processing teams for five years serving as the CDC’s Chief Credit Officer before joining Guidehouse in early 2022. Over the years, Mr. Shaw has presented at numerous industry conference panels and breakout sessions; he is also a regular instructor of NADCO’s In Person SOP and Packaging classes.
