Happy Retirement to Friends at Little Rock Commercial Loan Servicing Center
Industry News | 30 September 2014
Today our industry says goodbye to Hollis Carter, Vickie Welch, John Hiegel, Beverly Smith and Linda Stowe. Randy Griffin of CSRA Business Lending wrote the following email, which summarizes the feelings of many in the industry toward those retiring:

"Good last Tuesday morning to all of you. I wanted to send all of you 'soon to be retirees' in Little Rock an email this morning and thank you for all you have done for our company and our borrowers through the years. I started in this industry at the age of 23 (I am now 50) and have had the opportunity to see a lot of SBA employees come and go. There are none that have retired that I will miss more than the group that is on this email. You all had one of the toughest tasks thrown on you of any SBA branch ever… having to manage the effects of the great recession. It is easy to get up and come to work when you are putting people in business and helping people, but very tough when you are dealing with business failures and watching good hard working people lose everything they have. Countless times I witnessed all of you working with businesses to find fair settlements and allow people to get through this difficult process and know that a federal official actually cared about them and their predicament. We volunteered to be a Certified Liquidator because as I told our Board you can help people more when they are in trouble… it is when they need the help the most. You guys are also part of the reason we did so. Our company had a suicide of a 504 borrower when I first started and I vowed I would never let one of our customers get to that point again. The job you all did in the most difficult working environment during this tough economic time was noticed and was appreciated. Very few people get to retire and know they made a difference. When you turn out the lights today and walk out of your office for the final time, walk out knowing you made a difference and that we appreciate all you did."

Ron Reuss of GulfCoast Business Finance Speaks at FLAGGL
30 September 2014
Ron Reuss, former board member of the NADCO and President of GulfCoast Business Finance, joined with Diana Seaborn, Chief of the SBA 7(a) Policy and Program Branch and Tony Wilkinson, President and CEO of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) to update the audience of Florida lenders on current events regarding SBA's 504, 7(a) and Community Advantage loan programs.

Over 100 bankers from Florida attended the Florida Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (FLAGGL) conference held in Orlando, Florida last week. Ron updated the group on recent changes to the SBA 504 loan program and announced that GulfCoast was recently approved to process and service SBA's Community Advantage Loan Program, providing small businesses with access to capital in the $50,000-$250,000 range.

Ron concluded by saying that he was pleased to announce that NADCO had recently brought in Barbara Vohryzek as its Chief Executive Officer. Her extensive experience in working with SBA programs and the small businesses community will be a tremendous benefit to the industry.
