Capitol Hill Visits

**Please note: If you have already booked visits with your Congressional Members, please contact their offices as soon as possible to let them know of the change in dates and to request a reschedule of your meeting.**

Meeting with Congress is a critical part of advocacy for the SBA 504 program, which is why the NADCO Spring Summit builds in time for participants to meet with their Senators and Representatives throughout the conference.

In order to part take in this advocacy, please call the appropriate offices by early May to schedule a meeting for June 22-24, 2020. Each office has a preferred way to request a meeting, so call them directly or check the "Contact” section of their websites. You are encouraged to bring your own information, but NADCO will also provide national and state-by-state information to leave behind at your meetings.

Follow Up Information

It is important to follow up with your Representatives and Senators following your Capitol Hill meetings.

We recommend mailing a formal thank you letter to the members (template provided) or a less formal thank you email if the meeting was solely with staff. This should be done within a week of returning home. Afterward, keep in occasional touch with the staff members. Send them periodic items that highlight the great work your CDC does for their district or state. If you have the capacity, you may want to invite the member to a borrower for a visit when he or she is on recess. Please inform NADCO of any such events.
