Wayne Williams is currently Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer of Business Finance Group (BFG), a top producing CDC in SBA’s Region 3. In his current role Wayne is responsible for business development, including new loan originations and nurturing and expanding loan referral networks. He also assists other BDOs with
SBA policy and procedure concerns.
With BFG since 1997, Wayne has served in roles including business development officer, business development manager, and credit department manager. Over the years, Wayne has personally assisted over 500 small businesses with projects totaling over $1 billion. Prior to joining BFG Wayne spent 10 years as a commercial lender with
regional and national banks in North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida.
Critical to all of his roles with BFG, Wayne has established long term relationships with the local SBA offices, SLPC, and SBA headquarters. He is very well versed in the SBA’s SOP and has been a NADCO Instructor since May 2014 teaching “Intro to 504” and “504 Packaging”. He has recently assisted NADCO with reinvigorating these courses and developing a new SOP training class launching in the fall of 2015.
Wayne has been the Chair of the SBA’s Lenders Quality Circle Advisory Committee in Washington, DC since 2007 and a committee member since 1997. Through this group, Wayne has chaired or assisted with the planning and production of numerous SBA lenders conferences including the Mid-Atlantic Lenders Conference and the America
Wayne is a former Chapter President, Instructor, and National Award Winner with the American Institute of Banking (AIB now a part of the American Bankers Association). He has also been an instructor for RMA (Risk Management Association). Wayne obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
in 1987. He is a 1991 graduate of the North Carolina School of Banking’s Advanced Management Program and RMA’s Commercial Lending School at East Carolina University. In 2009, Wayne was recognized by the Washington Metropolitan Area District Office as SBA’s Financial Services Champion.
Wayne lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC with his two adorable dogs Boris and Chase.
