Debbie Shipman began her journey in SBA lending and economic development in 1985. She has served in every capacity of SBA lending from Processing, Servicing and Liquidation, to Loan Officer and Business Development Officer and now Management.
Debbie joined Northwest Business Development Association in 2006 where she currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and anticipates assuming the responsibilities of President as of October 1, 2014. NWBDA is a mid-sized CDC in Washington State, also serving Northern Idaho and Northern Oregon. NWBDA ranks among the top 25 CDC’s in the nation per SBA loan approvals.
In addition to her career in SBA lending, she has owns her own small business, wholesaling sporting goods since 1998. She assisted in the planning and construction of a commercial condominium development and currently serves as President and Treasurer of that Condo Association. She oversees several investment properties, both residential and commercial; and serves on several Boards of trade and community service groups.
Debbie has been active in NADCO and currently serves as Region X Board Member. Through Debbie’s encouragement, staff members of NWBDA proactively serve on many of the NADCO subcommittees.
Debbie resides with her husband and four-legged child “Lucy” in Post Falls, Idaho.
