What is NADCO?
The National Association of Development Companies (NADCO) was founded in 1981 and is a 501(c)(6) corporation chartered in the District of Columbia. NADCO, provides legislative and regulatory support for the 504 program on behalf of member Certified Development Companies and other program affiliates.
More than 97% of all SBA 504 financing is provided by NADCO members. Membership also 155 affiliate members (primarily first mortgage lenders and attorneys). Thanks to NADCO's support, the 504 program's loan authority has grown from under $400 million in 1991 to $7.5 billion in FY 2007.
Through its board of directors and member committees, NADCO works closely with the Small Business Administration to ensure that 504 program regulations are useful and appropriate, benefit the small business borrower, and afford reasonable compliance for CDCs, first mortgage lenders, and others who are affiliated with the loan program.
Other NADCO membership services include professional education for CDC staff, CDC attorneys and first mortgage lenders; industry networking and educational opportunities at NADCO's annual meeting and regional meetings; the opportunity to contribute to the association's comments on proposed 504 regulations; access to member discounts on Directors & Officers liability insurance; a monthly newsletter; legislative and regulatory bulletins by broadcast e-mail; and 504 marketing materials for purchase at reduced rates.
