Hill Visits

Meeting with Congress is a critical part advocacy for the SBA 504 program, which is why the NADCO Spring Summit builds in time for participants to meet with their Senators' and Representatives' offices.

In order to part take in this advocacy, please call the appropriate offices by late March to schedule a meeting for the afternoon of May 8 or at anytime on May 9. Each office has a preferred way to request a meeting, so call them directly or check the "Contact” section of their websites. You are encouraged to bring your own information, but NADCO will also provide national and state-by-state information to leave behind at your meetings.

Please check back here the month before the conference for materials to bring on your Hill visits!

Follow Up Information

It is important to follow up with your Representatives and Senators following your Capitol Hill meetings.

We recommend mailing a formal thank you letter to the members (template provided) or a less formal thank you email if the meeting was solely with staff. This should be done within a week of returning home. Afterward, keep in occasional touch with the staff members. Send them periodic items that highlight the great work your CDC does for their district or state. If you have the capacity, you may want to invite the member to a borrower for a visit when he or she is on recess. Please inform NADCO of any such events.
